Mackie responds to passive demand with three ranges

Three new ranges have been added to the Mackie catalogue as the Loud brand seeks to meet market demand for portable passive enclosures. Leading the trio is the S500 Series of passive loudspeakers, followed by FRS Series power amplifiers and the SP260 2x6 loudspeaker processor.
Designed as a high-powered solution for the manufacturer’s PPM Series of powered mixers, the S500 Series is intended offer professional, rugged performance at an affordable price point with high output transducers and PVC vinyl covered enclosures. Included in the range is the 12-inch, two-way S512, the 15-inch, two-way S515 and dual 15-inch, two-way S525. A companion 18-inch subwoofer, the S518, is also available.
FRS Series amplifiers, meanwhile, are available in two configurations in the shape of the FRS-1700 and FRS-2800, both of which incorporate Mackie’s Fast Recovery technology for improved transient response.
Finally, the 24-bit SP260 2x6 loudspeaker processor is described as offering ‘sophisticated EQ, dynamics processing and system protection’ for both passive and active enclosures. The unit has a 120dB dynamic range plus 24 user-definable presets and flexible I/O.
The processor’s six outputs feature five different operating modes to cover a wide range of systems, while each output features dedicated level control, polarity invert, high/low-pass filters, seven-band parametric/shelving EQ, 600ms delay and limiting. Two input channels are also included providing independent 600ms delay and a flexible five-band parametric/shelving EQ. Meanwhile, the processor’s front panel boasts seven segment LED metering per channel.
