Master Audio unveils first column array

Spanish manufacturer Master Audio has made its first foray into the world of column arrays with the release of the JK46A. The column array is intended for small-scale touring use by combining portability with high performance. The speaker is a lightweight, self-powered and full-range column array comprising four custom-matched 6-inch carbon-fibre coned neodymium drivers and the manufacturer’s asymmetric horn with PETP membrane 1.5-inch HF compression driver.

Powered by an integrated 700W (1,400W peak) Class-D amplifier, the cabinets are capable of outputting up to 128dB peak SPL. 48-bit DSP functionality has also been integrated and users can adjust system parameters such as delay-line management pre-set corrective EQs and comprehensive speaker management by accessing the control panel on the rear of the enclosure. The LCD screen outputs information about input and output levels, system status and amplifier temperature.

Manufactured from high-quality plywood with high resistant Polyurea paint finish, the enclosures are said to be highly durable.
