Meyer debuts Lyon linear sound reinforcement system

Meyer Sound has announced the Lyon linear sound reinforcement system as the newest addition to its Leo family. Incorporating the same technology but in a lighter and more compact package, Lyon is designed to appeal to a broader range of venues and applications.

Lyon linear line array loudspeakers are available in two versions: the Lyon-M main line array loudspeaker and the Lyon-W wide-coverage line array loudspeaker. The Lyon-M is best suited to installations in arenas and large auditoriums, as well as tours and festivals. The Lyon-W can serve as down fills to augment a Lyon-based system. Both Lyon versions can be used to provide supplemental coverage in a Leo system.

Meyer’s 1100-LFC low-frequency control element and its Galileo Callisto loudspeaker management system also feature as part of the series. The 1100-LFC is a self-powered low frequency loudspeaker mated to the system. The Galileo Callisto 616 AES is a primary array processor for driving and aligning Meyer loudspeaker array systems. It masters and aligns digital audio, with tools like U-Shaping equalisation and delay integration, and contains a full suite of AES3 analogue and digital inputs and outputs.

Whilst the Leo array is now capable of installation into a variety of environments, John Meyer – Meyer Sound’s CEO, is keen to point out that the sound of the system is equally as malleable. ‘With the Leo system, we have shown how a system that stays linear across all frequencies and at very high sound levels can provide a whole new listening experience for everything from the New York Philharmonic to Bassnectar.’
