More inputs for upgraded Soundcraft Si series

Two years after its launch, Soundcraft’s Si series of digital consoles have been upgraded and renamed ‘Si+’.

The upgrades have reportedly delivered more inputs for the Si1 and Si2 desks, plus ‘additional functionality and options across the range’.

Following the changes, the Si1+ now has 16 additional mic inputs fitted as standard bringing the total to 48, plus a processing capacity of 72 inputs to mix. The extra 16 mic input module can be replaced by an eight-in/eight-out module if required. The number of option card slots has also been increased to four, while a space for an optional second (redundant) PSU has been added.

The Si2+ also boasts the 16 mic input module as standard, again with the option to swap it for an eight-in/eight-out module. The changes extend the onboard mic input count to 64 with an input-to-mix capacity of 80.

Other features spread across the three-model range (including the Si3+) include an added word clock output connector and the ability to use a range of Si optional interface cards including Madi (optical or Cat-5), AES/EBU, CobraNet and Aviom A-Net.
