Near-field monitoring solution from Sonodyne

The SRP 500, 600, 400 and 800 make up the SRP Series of monitors from Sonodyne. Embodying all the knowledge and experience found in the manufacturer’s SM series, the SRP Series is reported to offer ‘a fresh new look’ at near-field monitoring.

Where serious project and professional studios are concerned, the need is ever present for a compact speaker that can deliver detailed sound at high SPL and cover a large frequency bandwidth.

Sonodyne is offering just this in a series that provides two DSP enabled bi-amplifiers per speaker. These Class-AB amplifiers offer power, headroom and provide a ‘clean, undistorted’ signal. The DSP ensures linearity both in frequency and time domains resulting in a detailed, natural sound.

Key to the series’ appeal is a unique waveguide for each SRP HF transducer, reportedly resulting in a ‘clear, detailed’ high frequency response over a wide sweet spot.

Meanwhile, the stiff woven fibre of the Kevlar cone minimises cone breakup. Combined with a powerful motor system this results in ‘high-grade’ performance both in terms of linearity and dynamics.

Encased in a rigid cabinet, this eliminates colouration caused, typically, due to cabinet vibration. Meanwhile, the non-parallel edges minimise standing wave build-up.

Additionally, the pressure die-cast cabinets are powder coated and come with sturdy wall mount brackets that allow for smooth motion and positioning in both horizontal and vertical planes.
