New Cerwin Vega P-series stands for powerful and portable

Cerwin-Vega has introduced the P-Series loudspeaker family, which currently comprises of the P1500X and the P1800SX active models.

With a rating of 1,500W, the two-way, bi-amped, P1500X adopts a 15-inch bass-reflex woofer with a high-frequency compression driver, both of which are powered by a custom Class-D amp. A proprietary hemi-conical horn reportedly provides enhanced clarity over an even and wide coverage area. An integrated mixer with I/O connections offers ease of set-up, together with enhanced EQ, Vega Bass boost and high-pass filters. For portable applications, the P1500X’s polymer enclosure includes a two position pole cup with an adjustable mounting point, in addition to ergonomic handles. Built-in rigging points and a remote volume port also promote its use as suspended fixed installation speaker.

The P1800SX powered subwoofer employs an 18-inch woofer powered by a 2,000W Class-D amplifier. Housed in a hardwood cabinet, the P1800SX comes with frequency-shaping controls, a Vega Bass boost and a high-pass filter switch as a built-in crossover. The Thru and Mix output options provide system expansion and fast daisy-chain connections between components.
