New loudspeaker and HF products from Eminence

As part of its professional audio range, Eminence has introduced the Delta Pro 12-450A – a lightweight version of its Delta Pro 12A, the Kappa Pro 10LF – a low frequency enhanced version of its popular Kappa pro 10 speaker – as well as three high power, shallow cast frame drivers – the LA10850, LA12850 and LA15850. Also released are two new compression drivers, the PSD:2013 and PSD:3014.

Featuring a 1.5kg ferrite magnet, the 375W Delta Pro 12-450A is recommended as a woofer – or mid/bass in vented enclosures – and is intended as a replacement for many portable PA cabinets. It has a 2.5-inch voice coil and a usable frequency range of 44Hz to 4kHz. According to Eminence, when compared to the Delta Pro 12, the 12-450A ‘still delivers exceptional performance, but with a significant weight reduction’.

The Kappa Pro 10LF driver attempts to enhance the low-end frequency response compared to the Kappa Pro 10. It features a high-BL, twin-reinforced cone, and high excursion suspension. Its high power handling capability – 600W continuous, 1,200W program power – allow it to work in compact vented or horn loaded bass guitar or subwoofer enclosures.

The LA10850, LA12850 and LA15850, are three new high power, shallow cast frame drivers. Also included in Eminences professional series, they are designed to provide high output in tight fitting horn loaded applications such as EAW’s KF series cabinets.

The LA10850 measures 4.5-inches deep and is a high power mid range driver with a 3-inch voice coil, ceramic motor assembly and an inverted dust cap for close placement to phase plugs in horn loaded designs.

Described by Eminence as ‘providing clean low mids and tight punchy bass, the LA12850 shallow cast frame and T/S parameter set allows it to work in ultra-compact vented systems and allow very tight packaging in line arrays or other systems where overall depth is limited. Measuring less than 5-inches deep, the LA12850’s super stiff paper cone is driven by a 4-inch voice coil and a powerful vented ceramic motor assembly.

The LA15850, described as Eminence’s ‘most compact 15-inch cast frame Professional series model’ features a 4-inch voice coil and inverted dust cap, which the manufacturer says makes it the perfect replacement in the EAW 850 cabinet’s bass section. At 5.5-inches deep, the LA15850 can also be used in small conventional vented enclosures where a high power mid/bass driver is needed.

Eminence has also added two new compression drivers to its line-up. Expanding on the popular PSD:2002 model, the new 85W PSD:2013 which features a 1-inch throat, offers a smoother frequency response through an improved voice coil design – reducing moving mass and increasing high frequency extension – and is available in both 8- and 16-ohm impedances, in both screw-on and bolt-on formats.

Lastly the PSD:3014 with a 100W continuous AES power rating, a 1.4-inch throat, 3-inch voice coil and a recommended minimum crossover frequency of 800 Hz. The PSD:3014 is also available in both 8- and 16-ohm impedances in bolt-on format.
