No subs required with APart OVO8P

APart has debuted the OVO8P, a bass reflex wall speaker that does not require an additional subwoofer. The speaker is described as offering ‘excellent musical quality, crystal clear voice reproduction and high sound level with 60W output power’.

Comprising an 8-inch woofer and a 1-inch soft dome tweeter, the ‘budget friendly’ enclosure also offers volume control options and separate bass and treble control. The balanced and unbalanced input connectors on the OVO8P are intended to make it ideal for A/V monitoring and educational applications requiring very high sound levels. In addition, an RCA/Cinch input is included for unbalanced line level signals and male and female linked XLR connectors for balanced line level signals. Multiple OVO8Ps can also be wired in parallel. The loudspeaker is available in either black or white.

Also new from the manufacturer is the T20iP built-in 100V line transformer, which has been designed to make it possible to convert a standard 8-Ohm loudspeaker into a 100V line speaker with selectable power taps. End-users need only to connect the T20iP (which is packed inside a humidity resistant box) between the 100V amplifier and the low impedance loudspeaker.

Meanwhile the CMART Marine Series of waterproof speakers has arrived, including the T20iP as standard. The series boasts three models – the 5-inch CMART-5, the 6-inch CMART-6 and the 8-inch CMART-8. All three have been specifically designed for use in humid or hot (up to 95-degrees C) environments such as swimming pools, yachts, bathrooms and saunas. 

Finally, APart has created an 8-Ohm version of its popular OVO3T speaker, naming the new model the OVO3. The 3-inch enclosure is intended for use in a broader variety of applications such as residential installations and smaller retail outlets.

The OVO3 uses a bracket system to allow mounting in a variety of different angles, while mounting on a flat surface is simply done with the supplied pad.
