Optocore creates ‘powerful Madi router with smallest footprint’

Optocore believes its recently launched M Series of Madi devices means it can offer the most powerful Madi router on the market with the smallest footprint.
The M Series comprises the M8 and M12. The M8 features four Madi ports which come in the form of four dual BNC or four duplex fibre as well as two Sane ports (which support Madi over Cat-5) and a pair of Optocore hi-speed fibre uplinks. The larger M12 has eight Madi ports, deployed as either eight dual BNC, eight duplex fibre or four dual BNC and four duplex fibre. In addition to this, M12 also features two Sane ports and two Optocore high-speed fibre uplinks.
Both devices can also reportedly act as a standalone router with a single-channel non-blocking matrix - and each can be integrated with any other Optocore interface. This is where the claim of providing the most powerful Madi router with the smallest footprint comes from. With 1U of rack space, M Series users can interface 640 Madi inputs and 640 Madi outputs and route any single channel between Madi streams, as well as through the redundant fibre Optocore uplinks.
