Phoenix offers tilt control

The latest addition to Phoenix Audio’s 500 Series is the Tilt Tone channel/500 (Tilt TC/500). The unit is an API 500 Series-compatible balanced line amp driver and direct input channel with an EQ Tilt control processor for guitar, keyboard and all other DI and line level sources.
Tilt control is the most notable feature of the unit. Based on the 1970s concept of a tilt EQ, the US-based manufacturer has redesigned this to offer a three way tilt at 160Hz, 800Hz and 1.6kHz. A further addition is the sweepable tone control feature, which reportedly makes the Tilt EQ either darker or brighter across both the LF and HF frequencies.
The Tilt TC/500 is contains a mono Class-A discrete channel of the manufacturer’s Nicerizer 16mk2 summing mixer and a mono channel of its rack-mount Nice DI unit. It is a completely Class-A discrete unit with Phoenix’ custom-wound output transformer. The DI has a 10-Megaohm input impedance load as well as a DI input, thru and a switch to accept balanced line level through the rack’s XLR input.
According to the manufacturer it offers a frequency response of 20Hz to 20Khz ±0.5dB and a maximum output of +26dBu at 1kHz. The unit features ¼-inch jack inputs on the front panel and a 10 position LED output meter.
