Precise sub bass with PDN.1852

The PDN.1852 has been added to the Precision Devices line up of sub-bass drivers. Combining a lightweight neodymium motor system with a heavy-duty cast aluminium frame for increased rigidity and dual silicone suspension, it has been created to provide what the manufacturer describes as an aggressive bass response for applications as diverse as scoop bins, conventional reflex cabinets and horn-loaded systems.
Weighing 11.5kg, the FEA-optimised compact motor system configuration reportedly provides efficient management of the electromagnetic flux and greatly reduces stray magnetic fields. The motor system configuration and rear vent plate design have been developed to allow effective heat dissipation and airflow around the 5-inch copper voice coil, which offers the potential for increased power handling and reduced power compression effects. The unit has a rated power handling of 1,000W AES and exhibits an average sensitivity of 98dB across its 35Hz to 2kHz usable frequency range.
