PXW-Z150 enables live streaming in 4K

Sony’s PXW-Z150 brings wireless operation and 4K functionality of up to 30p, to the manufacturer’s XDCAM range. The compact professional camcorder features a 1.0 type stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor to enable the 4K recording, as well as 5x slow motion in full HD.

Reportedly capturing up to 120fps, the PXW-Z150 includes 24x zoom and 18x zoom in HD and 4K modes respectively. Meanwhile, the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi capabilities allow for live streaming and FTP wireless connection.

The PXW-Z150, which Sony states has a battery life of 400 minutes of continuous recording time, can also be controlled remotely via Wi-Fi using a smartphone or tablet. It is described as being lightweight and possesses a range of connectivity options, including 3G-SDI, XLR inputs, HDMI, USB and Composite.
