QSC adds to loudspeaker offering with AcousticPerformance range

Described as ‘ideal for a variety of installed sound reinforcement applications which require higher SPL and a stylish enclosure’, QSC has unveiled its new AcousticPerformance range of professional, two-way, full-range loudspeakers.

The range has been specifically designed for permanent installation, right down to the absence of a logo on each model’s grille (behind which the manufacturer has added acoustically transparent backing for a more professional appearance).

Four models are included in the range: the AP-5102, 5122 and 5152 are all available in black or white finishes, while the AP-5122m multi-purpose enclosure features a 40-degree angle for floor monitor applications and is available in black only. All of the enclosures feature 3-inch voice coils and high power-capacity compression drivers combined with high-output woofers. Another key feature is Directivity Matched Transition (DMT), which matches the compression driver to the natural coverage angle of the woofer in the cross-over region. M10 mounting points are also on-board.

All AcousticPerformance models can be used in passive (full-range) mode to minimise amplifier channel count or in bi-amplified mode for greater control and performance. Both bi-amp and full-range tunings are available for the loudspeakers in QSC’s Q-Sys integrated system platform, while complete EASE, CAD and BIM information is available online.

In other news, QSC has announced that acoustic echo cancellation is now a standard feature within Q-Sys, with users able to deploy it as a draggable component in Q-Sys Designer software.

Current users can gain access to the new feature without charge by upgrading to Q-Sys Designer Release 3.0 or newer via the manufacturer’s website.
