The AcousticDesign install range from QSC is set to grow with two surface-mount loudspeakers, while a third addition to the manufacturer’s catalogue is spearheading the introduction of a range named AcousticCoverage. In addition, the company’s Q-Sys system is about to become fully compliant with the AES67 standard.
The AcousticDesign range will now be joined by the 6-inch, two-way AD-S6T (incorporating the X-Mount system), and the AD-S112sw subwoofer equipped with a long-throw 12-inch driver and yoke-mount hardware. Other features on the AD-S6T include Directivity Matched Transition (DMT) to deliver a reported 105-degree axisymmetric coverage, 70/100V and direct drive operation via a multi-tap 60W transformer with an 8-ohm bypass. The AD-S112sw offers 8-ohm operation only. Both models boast unadorned aluminium grilles and paintable ABS enclosures.
Meanwhile the AC-C4T in-ceiling loudspeaker is the first model to be unveiled from the upcoming AcousticCoverage series. It incorporates a 4-inch full-range transducer housed in a ported enclosure for added low end extension, and a multi-tap transformer including an 8-ohm bypass.
Elsewhere, Q-Sys is set to become fully AES67 compliant as a facet of its latest software update. According to the manufacturer, the v4.1 update will result in the network audio system adopting the AES67 standard for ‘interoperability’ mode.
Additionally, a number of bridge cards are being made available for interfacing Q-Sys with Dante, AVB or Cobranet based systems in the shape of the CCN32 for Cobranet, the CDN64 for Dante and the CAN32 for AVB.
