RCFs Acustica H1315WP targets high humidity environments

RCF’s Acustica H1315 and H1315WP
are three-way full range loudspeaker systems that incorporate a 15-inch LF transducer, a 10-inch cone MF transducer and a ¼- inch exit titanium compression driver. Where they differ, is that the WP version is particularly suited for high humidity and outdoor environments.

According to the manufacturer, the new loudspeaker systems provide high outputs and produce accurate voice and sound reproduction. The H1315’s front steel grille is epoxy powder coated, where as the WP version is equipped with two layers of weather-resistant open-cell fibres and water repellent woven fabric.

Similarly, the H1315 utilises a speakon connector, whilst the H1315WP is equipped with an IP 67 removable amphenol terminal for extra protection from harsh outdoor conditions. The transducer cones also carry a specific additional treatment designed to resist against harsh environmental conditions.

The LF driver, equipped with a four-inch voice coil and a neodymium motor, is mounted in a vented enclosure with optimized front loading. The MF cone driver is loaded into a Baltic birch 60-degree x 40-degree midrange horn. The three-inch coil MF driver is acoustically equalised due to a phase-plug design.

The internal crossover network between midrange and compression driver offers compression driver protection due to an active mosfet circuit. The system is driven in bi-amped mode, and the manufacturer reports that is able to produce a maximum SPL higher than 136dB. The system handles 900W AES (LF) and 400W AES (MF/HF).

The loudspeaker’s multitrapezoidal enclosure shape allows for a double coupling angle each side. The cabinet includes two recessed handles for transportation and positioning and a total of six double M10 fixing points for flown applications, as well as internal metal bracing.
