Sound masking speakers from Lowell

Designed with contractors and system integrators in mind, Lowell Manufacturing Company has released the UL Listed SM810, SM820 and SM410 series of sound masking speakers. Available in black or white, the speakers have been optimised to offer businesses greater conversational privacy and productivity in the workplace by adding specially shaped ambient noise to an open-office environment.

Each ready-to-install model consists of a speaker (SM810: 8-inch 15W dual cone; SM820: 8-inch 50W coaxial; and SM410: 4-inch 15W single cone), a factory-wired 4W 70V transformer, 760 cubic-inch steel enclosure (acoustically lined with fibreglass) with grille, and factory-mounted hangers. Models are also available with bridge rails, which can be quickly added using pre-drilled pilot holes in the enclosure.

The sound masking speakers feature an SG box cover with dual combination knockouts for flex conduit, and a Romex connector for installations without conduit, along with externally accessible input leads and mounting hardware. These include hangers with S-hooks and a 1.2m chain for single-point suspension or bridge rails for installation directly on lay-in tile ceiling grids.
