An outdoor, weatherised column line array intended to provide high intelligibility and musicality in outdoor applications has been released by Soundtube. The 150W XT-Spyke houses eight 3-inch polypropylene woofers and eight 1-inch titanium done tweeters in a sealed, rotomoulded enclosure with a stainless steel grille and mounting bracket. Targeted at small stadia and theme parks, the speaker reportedly offers long throw with 120-degrees horizontal and 45-degrees vertical dispersion. Connection is via a Neutrik SpeakOn weatherproof input. Furthermore, an optional 120W transformer with six position tap switch is available for 25.5V, 70.7V and 100V operation.
Elsewhere, the manufacturer’s Mini Amp series has grown thanks to the MA501t, which is a constant-voltage amplifier supplying 50W into a mono channel.
Inputs to the device are Euroblock (balanced) and RCA (unbalanced) with a Euroblock connector for the amplifier’s output. Input adjustment is made via a recessed screw control. The MA501t provides 34dB gain and includes settings for 25V, 70V and 100V applications. A selectable high-pass filter is also provided, together with auto-sensing or trigger activation.
Measuring 30mm x 98mm x 200mm, the MA501t may be pole mounted, rack mounted or chassis mounted.
