Standalone Uniline-D from APG
Published: PRODUCTS

The Uniline-D is a new stand-alone line source system from APG that complements and enhances the manufacturer’s ‘Uniline solution’. The new offering is considerably lighter than the brand’s main Uniline enclosures, and is suited for medium-throw applications including theatres, concert halls, corporate work, and TV studios.
Uniline-D takes on the same components seen in the manufacturer’s heavier boxes, and offers a wealth of options for current owners. This includes giving a user the opportunity to enhance their existing system with additional UL210D enclosures for down-fill purposes, which in turn may constitute an independent system for applications requiring less throw or wider coverage.
According to the manufacturer, the standalone unit is a good investment for rental companies not yet ready to invest in a full Uniline system.
In an additional announcement, APG has also released the ‘ultra-compact’ DX8 multipurpose coaxial monitor speaker. Smaller than the manufacturer’s DX15 and DX12, the light-weight DX8 can be utilised for a wide range of applications, but it is primarily suited for use as a front-fill, displaying a low profile when used horizontally.
When combined with APG subwoofers, it reportedly provides a powerful system for sound reinforcement in small venues or theatres and performance spaces, as well as for conferences, exhibitions and fashion shows. A number of flying and mounting accessories are available as well as dedicated processors depending upon the application.
Lastly, the manufacturer has also released GLL data files for the full range of its speaker systems and subwoofers for use with AFMG’s EASE Focus 2.2. Before this, the only system supported from APG was its Uniline line array system. EASE Focus 2.2, along with all of the APG GLL data files, is available as a free download from the manufacturer’s website.
