Studio Technologies announces console

Studio Technologies’ Model 211 is designed to serve as an audio control centre for announcers, commentators and production talent. The announcer’s console integrates on-air, talkback and cue audio signal routing.

An instalment of the manufacturer’s 200-series, the Model 211 includes standard connectors to interface with analogue microphones, headphones, talkback and talent cue signals. The console directly supports analogue cue audio sources and allows connection with standard balanced and unbalanced audio signals.

Key features include mic preamp with selectable gain and P48 phantom power, two line-level cue inputs, two pushbutton switches and transformer-balanced main and talkback outputs. Balanced dynamic and condenser microphones are compatible and a preamplifier circuit provides amplification over a 20dB to 60dB gain range in 10dB steps. Users are also able to directly combine talkback outputs from multiple units, as the talkback output contains resistors in series with its output connections.

Dip switches on the unit’s enclosure make a broad range of configuration choices available to the user, while audio routing is performed using solid-state devices. Critical audio paths features what Studio Technologies describes as ‘clickless’ electronic switches.
