Technomad introduces weatherproof all-in-one portable PA

Adapted from Technomad’s rugged military technology and christened ‘Dragonfly’, Technomad has introduced the world’s first completely weatherproof, all-in-one, self-casing portable PA system.
The self-casing, 100 per cent weatherproof design fully protects the system components from moisture, dirt, shock and other outdoor elements. The inclusion of rechargeable and long-lasting battery power supports portable audio free of extension cords, for which the NiMH battery technology uses nickel-metal hydride materials, described as far more energy-efficient than common-place lead-based batteries.
Measuring 360mm x 205mm x 350mm and weighing 12.75kg, Dragonfly comprises two Technomad loudspeakers, a 200W amplifier and an integrated four-input mixer with individual controls. The broad dispersion characteristics project intelligible speech and musical reproduction over relatively long distances. The weatherproof design extends to water submergence when in case-mode, when it can float, thus providing complete protection in unusually wet weather, whilst rear controls and screens remain visible through a clear hatch.
Other standard features include 16+ user-selectable channels for UHF applications, an integrated wireless microphone and an expansion bay to support an additional microphone and a CD player. Network interfaces for streaming audio to other PA systems or receiving audio over a network via a wireless connection are included. A Technomad Schedulon MP3 playback and recording system can be added for instant, manual playback of user-loaded audio or the automatic playback of files. The NiHM battery comes with a charger and the unit operates on 120-240VAC and 12-24VDC power.
