Vitec encodes a UHD vision

Designed for IPTV, broadcasting and point-to-point distribution, Vitec’s MGW Vision is a HEVC real-time encoder that is hardware-based and capable of integrating UHD resolutions. The system enables HEVC/H.265 compression and features streaming technology that the manufacturer states makes it ‘ideal for live events’. MGW Vision reportedly facilitates the streaming of UHD and HD video using as little as 50 per cent of the bandwidth usually required with H.264.
Requiring 1RU of space, encoder unit includes an H.265 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 hardware compression chip to allow for broadcast-quality streaming. It has the processing power to handle either four HD or one UHD HEVC channels from its four 3G-SDI inputs.
