Votum A new voting system from Beyerdynamic

Beyerdynamic has introduced a cost-effective, dedicated voting system for parliaments named Votum, which has been designed for standalone operation but can also be used in parallel with any conference system.

Key to the system are Votum KL terminal devices which are powered via standard PoE network switches and boast black acrylic glass designs with silver rims, three-button built-in keypads, RJ-45 sockets and backlit voting buttons. The brain of the system meanwhile is the supplied Votum software for PC (Windows XP and Windows 7 compatible). The design also uses Cat-5 patch cables with the intention of reducing installation and investment costs.

When used in tandem with Beyerdynamic’s MCS-Digital conference system, Votum can increase the number of delegates who are entitled to vote in addition to the conference participants.

Finally, the manufacturer has premiered a new infrared interpretation system named Iris, which makes use of DQPSK digital modulation technology to reportedly provide smooth operation even in direct sunlight. Simultaneous use of up to 16 audio channels is available.

System components include the Iris RP-8 / -16 digital infrared pocket receiver, the Iris EF radiator, the Iris TS controller and the C40 charging and transport case.
