VS Series offers a complete Yamaha sound system solution

Yamaha Commercial Audio has launched the compact VS Series of surface mount speakers, described by the manufacturer as easily adaptable to almost all environments.
According to Yamaha, the VS Series is ‘ideal’ for public address, background music, retail stores, clubs, restaurants, meeting rooms or houses of worship, and can also be used to supplement theatre or stadium sound.
The two models that make up the series are the VS6, featuring a 6.5-inch cone woofer for bottom end, and the VS4, which houses a 4-inch woofer. Both models feature a 1-inch balanced dome tweeter to provide clarity at higher frequencies, while internally mounted transformers enable the speakers to operate in 70V or 100V distributed sound systems.
The VS6 and VS6W boast a nominal impedance of 8-Ohms, a frequency range of 80Hz to 20kHz (-10db) and a power rating of 25W and 50W, respectively. Sensitivity at 1W is reported to be 90db SPL. The VS4 and VS4W’s nominal impendence is 8-Ohms, with a frequency range of 100Hz to 20kHz (-10db). Power rating is 15W and 30W, 88db SPL.
The new surface mount speakers meet industry standard IEC60529 IPX3 rating requirements and are available in black or white. They may be installed horizontally or vertically using an included, colour-matched, steel U-bracket.
