VSM gains Dante support

Lawo has updated its VSM (Virtual Studio Manager) IP-based broadcast control system, with Release 16.1 bringing several upgrades and new features to its various modules. Most notably, the VSM’s Gadget Server 5 now provides support for the Dante protocol.

Gadget Server, which lists the parameters available to the system and indicates the status of any devices attached, has also seen support added for Lawo DMS’ Master Card swap status. Meanwhile, the vsmPanel module now offers support for HTML5 within the web browser page, while vsmStudio includes the new function of a user-assignable button, allowing users to change a button’s attachment, while navigating through the GPIO configuration is reportedly as simple as double-clicking on the GPIOs.

In other news, Cobalt’s Quint-Split multiviewer card, which is used with openGear frames and produces a single 3G/HD/SD-SDI output from five discrete 3G/HD/SD-SDI or CVBS inputs, has become the latest multiviewer system to be integrated into Lawo’s multiviewer control software, TheWall. Quint-Split support comes as part of TheWall’s recent update, with Lawo promising that further systems are slated for support in due course.
