Williams Sound delivers a more personal message

Williams Sound has developed the next-generation of Hearing HotSpot (HHS) systems to provide multichannel audio streaming in real-time over an enterprise Wi-Fi network. According to the manufacturer, the software algorithm delivers audio with ultra-low latency, allowing the audio to stay in sync with the video source or live performance.

Following its customised installation within a venue, the software licence is activated by Williams Sound based on the number of channels at that venue. Up to 16 stereo or 32 mono channels per server box can be broadcast via analogue or Dante directly to an individual’s smartphone or tablet. In app links provide advertising messages that are made available to the venue via web portal and system updates. Each of the five units currently available include the Hearing Hotspot software. The HHS108, HHS116, HHS124 and HHS132 models each incorporate one-, two-, three- and four- 8-channel analogue input modules respectively. The HHS132D, on the other hand, is a 32-input module with a Dante sound card configuration.

Elsewhere, the Minneapolis-based manufacturer has added the DL107 NET and DL207 NET to its line-up of Digi-Loop amplifiers. Network-control capability provides remote system setup, operation and monitoring via a laptop or tablet, whilst integrated audio processing offers software control of DSP parameters.

The new models incorporate online calibration tools for ease of installation, for which the single output (7A) DL107 is suited for perimeter and single array installations, whereas the dual-output (2x7A) DL207 has been designed for dual-amp or phased-array installations. Optional Dante audio inputs are available, whilst a 70-100V input provides connection to a distributed speaker/paging system ensuring announcements can be heard by loop users.
