Work unveils first digital loudspeaker management system

The WPE 26 N processor is the first digital loudspeaker management system with network connection produced by Spanish brand Work. Operating on an OSC protocol, the processor can be controlled remotely via Wi-Fi, using iOS (iPhone, iPad), Android and Windows devices.

A USB port on the front panel can be used to configure the processor using WorkCAD software, which can also be used with Digiline devices. The software allows configuration of all the stored features and properties of the in-built parameters. Features include two balanced line inputs and six line outputs, a digital encoder for menu selection and an LED clip and signal on each input/output. Processing features include gain settings on inputs and outputs, an input matrix/mixer, 13 bi-quad filters per output for equalisation and crossover together with eight bi-quad filters per input for equalisation.

In addition, the Arion ultra-compact line array system has also been added to the Work catalogue. The manufacturer claims that the internal electronics of the new line series provide high SPL’s, whilst the neodymium transducers and the waveguide utilised in the cabinets provide excellent horizontal and vertical control. The compact cabinets employ birch plywood finished in waterproof paint, whilst internal bracing offers durability.
