ADB acquired by Osram

WORLD: Osram continues to expand within the entertainment sector with the acquisition of ADB TTV SAS. Specialising in lighting products for use in television studios and theatres, ADB will become a part of Osram’s Clay Paky subsidiary, which was itself acquired in 2014.

‘ADB brings a wealth of experience in stage and studio lighting and a comprehensive range of products that are fully complementary to ours,’ explained Clay Paky CEO, Pio Nahum. ‘By joining forces, we will be able to merge this unique application focus with our innovative drive and technology leadership. As a result, we will be able to design the next generation of products to drive the evolution of the demanding theatre market.’

ADB’s product portfolio includes luminaires, dimmers and lighting control desks and are sold globally via a network of appointed distributors. The manufacturer’s lighting fixtures are noted for their inclusion in much renowned theatre installs, including Beijing’s National Grand Theatre.

‘With the acquisition of ADB TTV SAS’ business and the highly reputable ADB brand, we will expand our position in the innovation-driven entertainment lighting market,’ added Hans-Joachim Schwabe, Osram’s CEO of speciality lighting business unit.
