WORLD: Broadcast Solutions has become the latest company to join AIMS (Alliance for IP Media Solutions) and the first international systems integrator to take advantage of the alliance’s guidance in transitioning towards IP. AIMS, as an independent trade association for the broadcast industry, promotes open protocols and IP standards.
‘With the transition to IP taking place in broadcast, it becomes crucial to foster open standards for manufacturers and systems integrators to work on a common basis,’ said Broadcast Solutions CTO Rainer Kampe. ‘Promoting open standards in accordance with major trade organisations, such as SMPTE, VSF or AES, we are looking forward to contributing to AIMS for the benefit of all within the broadcast industry.’
‘Broadcast Solutions, being the first international systems integrator to join AIMS, will bring new insight and experience to our membership as we seek to foster the adoption of true standards in the migration to IP,’ added Michael Cronk, chairman of the board at AIMS. ‘We are thrilled that they have joined.’
