Epson named in the Top 100 Global Innovators

WORLD: For the sixth consecutive year, Epson was ranked within the Top 100 Global Innovators list released by Clarivate Analytics, formerly the Thomson Reuters-operated Intellectual Property & Science Business. Epson has appeared on the list, which analyses volume, success, globalisation and influence, each year since its inception in 2011.

Epson reportedly received this latest honour in recognition of its success rate, a metric indicating the ratio of patents granted to the number of applications filed. Hirofumi Hino from Clarivate Analytics’ Japanese office presented the award to Toshiya Takahata, executive officer and general administrative manager of Epson’s intellectual property division.

‘The acquisition of high quality patents that contribute to our business is a high priority for us,’ commented Mr Takahata. ‘I think Clarivate Analytics was able to see and appreciate what we have been doing, and that’s why we again made the Top 100 Global Innovators list. I am extremely pleased and proud that Epson has once again been honored with inclusion on the Top 100 Global Innovators list.’
