Middle Atlantic achieves 96 per cent waste diversion

WORLD: Middle Atlantic Products has been working to divert 96 per cent of its materials from landfills at its New Jersey-based manufacturing facility. The Legrand Group subsidiary has been awarded with GreenCircle certification in light of its considerable waste reduction and continued efforts to attain a zero-waste culture.

Middle Atlantic describes the achievement and ability to divert waste as stemming from its ‘environmentally conscious processes’ that span from product inception through to delivery by reusing materials, sourcing sustainable parts and recycling. The company will reportedly be launching further environmental initiatives imminently.

‘Middle Atlantic has a rich history of environmental responsibility, driven by aggressive sustainability standards,’ explained Mike Baker, president of Middle Atlantic. ‘Managing our manufacturing processes to result in such little waste is an incredible accomplishment, and I’m proud of how hard our team has worked to reach this milestone. We’ll keep pushing until we’re at completely zero waste.’
