Pixel Power steers towards IP with Ciaran Doran

WORLD: Ciaran Doran has joined Pixel Power, assuming the new role of executive vice president of international sales and marketing. The hire comes as the broadcast graphics and playout technology solutions manufacturer looks to position itself as a global leader in broadcast playout and automation by concentrating its efforts in IP and virtualised playout.
‘In a time of transition, it is really important that the real innovators are clearly heard and understood by the market,’ said Pixel Power CEO James Gilbert. ‘I am delighted to welcome Ciaran, a proven sales leader and marketer to the team.’
Mr Doran brings a wealth of experience with him to Pixel Power that he gained during stints with Sony, Leitch and Imagine Communications (formerly Harris Broadcast), where he served as international marketing director. His most recent roles have seen him spend three years at Datasat Group as CEO and direct sales at Digital Projection.
‘The broadcast industry is undergoing tremendous change at the moment, and it is exciting to be with Pixel Power, a company which has seized the new opportunities in this direction,’ enthused Mr Doran. ‘We are building on our unrivalled graphics and workflow heritage to develop into new areas including playout, and I am looking forward to helping our customers migrate from SDI to IP, to virtualisation and the cloud.’
