Riedel AIMS for IP standards
Published: WORLD

WORLD: As AIMS continues in its efforts to promote the adoption, standardisation, development and refinement of open protocols for media over IP, it continues to gain support and grow its membership. That membership has expanded once again as Riedel Communications has joined the Alliance for IP Media Solutions.
The German manufacturer has been at the forefront of media over IP technology, having produced MediorNet, a fibre-based video network for integrated signal transport that is used throughout multiple industries, including the broadcast, security and pro audio sectors. AIMS, meanwhile, champions open standards, such as VSF TR-03 and TR-04, SMPTE 2022-6 and AES67, and provides guidelines to its members, while also working with them to continue to develop a standard approach to IP.
‘By joining the Alliance for IP Media Solutions, we extend our product’s format support, providing our customers with more benefits of standards-based communications solutions while offering them plug-and-play simplicity,’ explained Riedel’s Lars Hoehmann, product manager MediorNet. ‘Our aim, as a solutions provider, is to secure their investments and to support them on their path towards IP-based media infrastructures. At Riedel, we have always been dedicated to facilitating reliable and versatile workflows that meet our customers' individual requirements.’
