Vevo’s Erik Huggers to present keynote at IBC

WORLD: Vevo’s president and CEO, Erik Huggers, will deliver a keynote speech at the IBC2016 Conference on Saturday 10th September. This year’s IBC conference is entitled Transformation in the Digital Era: Leadership, strategy and creativity in media and entertainment, and in his keynote, Mr Huggers will share insight into the online generation’s music listening habits and how streaming media has experienced enormous growth as a result.

Mr Huggers is responsible for driving the strategy and growth of Vevo’s global footprint across its product, technology, programming, branding, sales and business development. He possesses a wealth of experience gained across Europe and the USA as a leader for technology innovation through past roles that include senior vice president at Verizon, and president of the media division at Intel. Having also served as an executive board member at the BBC’s Future Media & Technology division to launch the BBC iPlayer, Mr Huggers has also held positions at Microsoft and Endemol Entertainment.

With more than 17 billion monthly views, Vevo is currently one of the most watched channels on YouTube and is planning to grow with its own apps for IOS, Apple TV, web and Android, as well as starting to produce its own original programming and branded content. ‘Erik is known for disrupting content delivery and media services through next generation user experiences and technologies,’ reads a statement from IBC. ‘Vevo is an exciting addition to the IBC2016 Conference.’
