Wohler embraces AoIP with Ravenna
Published: WORLD

WORLD: Wohler Technologies has become the latest manufacturer to join the Ravenna Partnership. The incorporation of Ravenna and AES67 standards into Wohler’s products is reportedly due to the growth of AoIP within the broadcast industry.
The company, which produced the first in-rack audio monitoring products, has recently expanded to develop solutions for advanced monitoring of video, audio and data, focusing on signal monitoring and correction solutions for broadcast, film and production facilities. Its first Ravenna/AES67-enabled products are the iAM-Audio monitoring device and the AMP2-16V audio monitoring and management system.
‘As customers continue to migrate over to IP, the requirement to support technologies such as Ravenna/AES67 in monitoring solutions is increasingly useful,’ commented Wohler vice president, sales and marketing, Craig Newbury. ‘This is particularly useful while our customers are bridging from more traditional signal formats.’
‘We are delighted to welcome Wohler on board,’ enthused Andreas Hildebrand, senior product manager at ALC Networx, developers of Ravenna. ‘AoIP is an inevitability in the broadcast and production world and AES67 is gaining traction as an efficient gateway to AoIP networks. Ravenna is natively compatible with AES67, therefore it makes sense that companies like Wohler want to offer Ravenna/AES67 connectivity.’
